Agreement to Terms
By accessing and using Protocol Builder ("Service"), operated by Medic Tech Pvt Ltd ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
Accounts
Registration
To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Maintain the security of your password
- Accept all responsibility for activity under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
Account Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
Intellectual Property
Your Content
You retain all intellectual property rights to the protocols, data, and other content you create or upload ("Your Content"). By publishing Your Content as "public," you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Display, distribute, and make Your Content available to other users
- Register DOIs for Your Content
- Include Your Content in search results and analytics
- Create derivative works for the purpose of providing and improving the Service
Our Platform
The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Medic Tech Pvt Ltd and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Content Guidelines
When using our Service, you agree NOT to:
- Upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Violate any intellectual property rights of others
- Upload content containing viruses, malware, or other harmful code
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- Engage in any form of plagiarism or scientific misconduct
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
Scientific Integrity
Users of Protocol Builder are expected to adhere to the highest standards of scientific integrity. This includes:
- Accurately reporting methods and procedures
- Properly attributing sources and collaborators
- Disclosing conflicts of interest where appropriate
- Ensuring safety information is accurate and complete
- Complying with all applicable research ethics guidelines
DOI Registration
When you request a DOI for your protocol:
- You confirm that you have the right to publish the content
- You agree that the content becomes part of the permanent scientific record
- You understand that DOI-registered content cannot be deleted (though it can be marked as retracted)
- You agree to follow best practices for persistent identifiers
- You acknowledge that metadata will be shared with DOI registration agencies
ORCID Integration
If you connect your ORCID iD:
- You authorize us to access your ORCID profile information
- You grant permission to link your protocols to your ORCID record
- You agree that your name and affiliation may be publicly displayed with your protocols
- You can revoke ORCID access at any time through your account settings
Collaboration and Sharing
When you collaborate on protocols:
- You are responsible for managing access permissions
- All collaborators must have active accounts
- You may be held liable for actions taken by your collaborators
- We are not responsible for disputes between collaborators
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable
- The quality of any products, services, information, or other material purchased or obtained through the Service will meet your expectations
- Any errors in the Service will be corrected
Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL MEDIC TECH PVT LTD BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
- Any content obtained from the Service
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
Safety and Liability
Important: Protocols on this platform are provided for informational purposes only. Users are solely responsible for:
- Verifying the accuracy and safety of any protocol before use
- Following appropriate safety procedures and regulations
- Obtaining necessary approvals and permissions
- Assessing risks and implementing appropriate safeguards
- Any injuries, damages, or losses resulting from protocol use
WE ASSUME NO LIABILITY FOR ANY HARM RESULTING FROM THE USE OF PROTOCOLS PUBLISHED ON THIS PLATFORM.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Medic Tech Pvt Ltd and its licensee and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors, from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses arising from:
- Your use and access of the Service
- Your violation of any term of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party right, including any copyright, property, or privacy right
- Any claim that Your Content caused damage to a third party
Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service (or any part of it) with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use our Service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
